Transportation Bus Cards and Parent App.

We have implemented a new software system in the Transportation Department for all bus riders.  Each student who is scheduled to ride a bus to and from home will be given a scan card they are to use when they get on and off the bus.  We ask that you help them attach it to their backpack, on the inside of their phone case, or somewhere that it can easily be accessible such as to the straps of their backpacks so they won’t have to reach behind them.  Students will be required to have their bus card at all times while riding the bus to and from school.

With the new software is a parent app you can download.  The app gives you your student’s bus information, times, when they scanned on and off the bus.  You will need to know your student’s school ID#.  When you enter your information, you will need to enter your name as it is listed on their emergency contact information. You will not use your last name.

Bus Passes

Bus passes will need to be approved by the Transportation Department and not your student’s school office. The request will need to be submitted no fewer than 3 business days before the day of the trip to allow for proper planning. No passes will be issued after noon on the day the pass is needed. Passes normally will be approved as long as there is room on the bus and the request is submitted on time. Please provide your student’s name, the school they attend, the date the pass will be needed and whom they will be riding home with.  To contact Transportation, please e-mail wendy.gehringer@indianola.k12.ia.us.
