Parent Partners

It is imperative that parents know the variety of options available for contributing to the success of the school and their child;  this parent involvement positively impacts communication, relationships, and student learning.  Different options will be included in the office newsletter throughout the year.

Additional ideas are welcomed and can be emailed to the building principal.

Community Partners

Indianola Middle School is proud to have strong relationships with a variety of community organizations.  Listed are just a few of the ways our school, students and families benefit from these community partners:

Indianola Community Youth Foundation

  • The ICYF mission is to build on Indianola’s reputation as a community committed to its youth by providing opportunities for kids to develop their personal best, make good choices, model positive behaviors, and build leadership skills.

  • Lawyers and judges from the community volunteer their time to coach the middle school Mock Trial Team.

Nursing Homes

  • Nursing homes welcome our students and give them opportunities to provide service through musical performances, assisting with crafts, and visiting.

  • Churches provide after-school activities at their locations, organize the Backpack for Hunger program, and sponsor speaking engagements for community members regarding topics that influence students and families.

Indianola Parks and Recreation

  • Parks and Rec sponsors The Zone twice per week after school at the middle school.  Students are supervised, receive a snack, and engage in activities and homework help.

Simpson College

  • Simpson College students volunteer to work with our students through the student tutoring and mentor program.

Indianola YMCA

  • The YMCA partners with our health and Physical Education staff to provide passes for students who need extra support in becoming and staying physically active.
