Activities Throughout the Year

Reader of the Week:  Students enter their name into a weekly drawing when they check out a book.  Winners receive a certificate and special bookmark.  Their name also appears in the weekly school newsletter.

IASL Awards:  Each year the Iowa Association of School Librarians sponsors the Iowa Children’s Choice Award for grades 3-6 and the Iowa Teen Award for grades 6-9.  Students must read a minimum of two books to vote.  Books are purchased and placed on a special shelf in the library.  Voting takes place in late February or early March

The library celebrates National Library Week in April.
