Dear Emerson Students and Families,
My Name is Brittany Murillo, honored to serve as the principal of Emerson Elementary School. Being part of this vibrant community where families, educators, and students collaborate to foster positive relationships and support academic and social development is both a privilege and a joy.
My educational journey includes a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in K-12 Educational Administration, both earned from Iowa State University. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with students from Kindergarten through 8th grade in various capacities, including roles as a regular education teacher, behavior interventionist, academic interventionist, and Elementary Assistant Principal.
At Emerson, you will find a family oriented community of educators who are built on the foundations of collaborative teams working together toward one common goal– student learning. The staff at Emerson passionately dedicate themselves to the success of all our students. Emerson is a building that continues to work hard to ensure that every student feels valued and has a proud sense of belonging. Relationships are important at Emerson and you will quickly see the commitment to ensuring every child has not only a valuable, but memorable, experience when they enter the doors to Emerson Elementary.
As we prepare for a new year in your child’s educational journey, I am reminded that the beginning of the school year is a very special time and I am looking forward to our partnership with you as we work together to help your child learn and grow. Whether you’re just joining our Emerson family or are returning, our entire staff is excited to welcome all of our families and students back to what will be the best year yet!
