Dear Parents and Students:
Welcome to Laura Ingalls Wilder Elementary. All of us here at Wilder Elementary are excited to have you and are anticipating a great new school year. Open House for the 2011-2012 school year will be August 18 from 6 – 7pm. Below you will find some information to help with procedures and routines for our school.
Office Hours
The office hours for the school are 7:30 – 4:00 Thursday and 7:30 – 3:30 Friday. We do have a phone system which allows you to reach your child’s teacher or leave a message for them. You may call the office at 961-9540 ext. 0.
School Hours/Attendance
School hours are 8:20 – 3:00 for all kindergarten through Grade 5. Students are not to arrive before 8:00am. Students will be marked tardy if they are not in the building by 8:20 in the morning.
Parking/Drop Off/Pick Up
As with any school year we have a number of students that walk or that get dropped off and picked up after school. We will dismiss these students approximately 3:00pm. They will dismiss out the main doors. If you are picking your child up in a vehicle, please do not leave your car unattended in the fire lane. If you need to park please use the diagonal parking or U Street to the east.
We will post a crossing guard at Euclid and U Street only. They will be there before school (7:55 – 8:10) and after school (3:00 – 3:15).
Breakfast
Students may eat breakfast from 8:00 – 8:20 and will enter through the main doors.
Thank you for being a part of our school community. If you have any questions or need help with anything in regards to your child, please contact the teacher, guidance counselor or me. We welcome your input and questions.
Sincerely,
Craig Sexton, Principal
