It has been a busy but good week at Indianola High School. This is the last full week for seniors. Senior testing starts on Thursday, May 10th and the seniors last day is Monday, May 14th. We have had various site visits already this week. On Tuesday, the Department of Education visited IHS to monitor and evaluate our Carl Perkins expenditures. The visit went well and we were provided minimal feedback on spending Perkins monies and improving our CTE programs. Tuesday night US News released their report highlighting the best schools across America. Indianola High School was ranked the 10th best high school in Iowa. On Wednesday we had a Project Lead The Way Certification visit. This visit also yielded positive results and feedback. We were given the certification seal of approval by the site visit team. This cretificaiton now allows students who take the Introduction to Engineering class to earn college credit if they meet the other necessary critiera for college credits. This was great news and a positive step in the right direction for the future of our PLTW program. I look forward to a good rest of the week, senior testing, and graduation week next week. It is hard to believe another school year is coming to a close.
