It was an inspirational day at IHS today for many students as they heard the story of Chris Norton.  Chris is a local kid who graduated from Bondurrant High School and went on to play football at Luther College.  During his freshman season, he was paralyzed during a football play.  Since then his attitude, perseverence, and dedication has been inspirational to many.  He was awarded the CBS Courage in Sports Award in 2011 and continues to work to improve his own health condition while inpiring others.  He had a message for students today that overcoming adversity is crucial to get the most out of life.  To see more about his story see http://youtu.be/9zm-q7xTMi8

The Indianola High School softball team has made it impossible for me to get to bed tonight and made a week full of memories.  Tonight they clinched the title of Class 4A state softball champions after beating Dallas Center-Grimes 1-0.  I am proud of the girls and our coaching staff for representing themselves, their families, our high school, and our entire community with class, pride, and poise all week long!  They are a young team with a bright future.  Thank you to the team for a memorable week and awesome champsionship season!

Indianola High School will again be offering summer credit recovery programing for students who have failed a past class and need to make up the credit(s).  The cost to students/parents is $50 that is fully refundable upon successful completion of the course they take.  To sign up student should see their counselor.
